Today I happened to learn about the fourth dimension... and I found it so interesting that I decided to talk about it in my blog.
First of all, the fourth dimension isn't just a theory, it's a concept, highly debated and also widely considered in the scientific community. And again, it is just a concept, it's not visible to the human eye (because our perceptions only work with three dimensions). Given that, it is only understandable thanks to mathematical and ideational tools.
The zero-dimensional space (0D) is the nothingness, just a point, a position, a dot. The one-dimensional space (1D) is a line, the length. The two-dimensional space (2D) is a plane, the width. The three-dimensional space (3D) is a solid, the depth. And the four-dimensional space (4D) is time, the consolidation of time-space.
Although the strings theory says that there are ten dimensions in total, I won't focus on those other six during this post, just in the fourth one (and its predecessors).
Let's start visualizing a 0D.
If we add movement to it...Let's put it on action too.
It's now part of a higher dimension, the 2D.
Let's repeat the process.
A 3D cube it's formed.
And if we do it one last time...
It got transformed into a 4D shape. It all thanks to the movement, the time.
Also, it's possible to observe it with vectors. While (X, Y, Z) belong to the 1D, 2D and 3D, the vector W is for the fourth dimension.
If we humans were able to perceive the fourth dimensions, we would then be able to observe simultaneously different events and objects, as y'all can see in the models.
In my opinion, it's pretty easy to imagine this 4D with the help of the vectors. You just have to start. And of course, we can't see it, but as a concept it gets understandable, right?
And a little bit aside and less scientific, but I believe that this dimension explains well how spirits and other beings are able to get through solid walls and bodies (if any of you believe in esotericism). It would also make sense because those beings are stuck in eternity.
Anyway, I am thankful to the channel "HyperCubist Math" (go check its videos for related info) and those creators on Google images, because is thanks to them that I finally understand this subject.
Disclaimer: Not all photos in this entry are mine (just the mayority). But all the editions are.
And, as always...
I send love to whoever gets to read my shit.
